there once was a producer named carl stephenson.
he produced some of an old beck album.
he also created his own project called forest for the trees.
he then stopped making music (i'm guessing due to lack of success)
i want to contact this guy with a letter, or e-mail or something...but i have no idea where to start.
do you guys have any suggestions as to how i could find mr. stephanson?

thanks c1ay, he was never very popular or anything..i figured no one would be able to find him like that.
but does anyone know any methods, or websites that locate people or something?
i don't know, i just have this strange huge passion to contact him.
I sure there are plenty that will do it for a price like locator services. It could be an expensive search though if you don't know what country to start in. Any idea where he might be now?

You gotta start thinking like Veronica Mars (you do watch it don't you? If you don't...)
You've run into a dead end on him. So start looking through all the people listed on his album, or on the Beck album. The further down the list you go, the more likely you'll find someone who is listed in whitepages.com *and* who will respond to a phone call. Find out about the guy, and don't be beyond mild ruses to get past voice mails ("My sister's boyfriend went to school with him in Kalamazoo and they're having a reunion...").
Be creative. I know you're good at *that*!
Good luck Mr. Phelps,
Buffy

Did you try contacting the label it was released under? I don't recall what indie he started on but I believe he majored on DGC. I guess it depends on what album you are talking about.
