Its that first part that gets me. I have been thinking of this since I read this in the morning. I would say chair but then its that first part again that doesnt seem right.

hey theory- 8 way hand tied is the way the furniture used to be constructed- it refers to the knotting of the twine to the springs which form the support. Chippendale is just one of the many styles of furniture. The sofas were stuffed with horsehair to give firmness and fill to the back , sides and bottom. Very uncomfortable- these were not lounging pieces, they literally made you sit upright and keeping your posture- no couch potatoes back then
