Mechanical Engineering

This is an odd question. I am interesed in mechanical engineering as a career. I am wandering though, just how smart do you have to be? I only have an I.Q around 129. If you are a mechanical engineer, and dont mind answering the question, how high are your I.Q's. You can email me at eyik66@hotmail.com. I know its a strange question, but any help would be greatly appreciated. If you have any related experience with the question, I would greatly value your feedback.
Thank you

Questioning

Hi! And welcome. I am not a mechanical engineer, but it has been one of the fields I have thought about. I am currently in college. I am not sure how good the I.Q. test is at telling you how smart you are. The first time I took the IQ test a few years ago it was 150-160. But I have taken it since then and made scores of 130, 120, and 110. I think more important is the SAT and ACT tests.

Thinking

I don't really think IQ is that important a factor in determinig one's success. What's more important is a person's EQ. How he repsonds to challenges and how he conducts himself. A person with a low IQ but a good EQ can do much better than a person of high IQ but low EQ.

So don't get too worried about your IQ or smartness, just discipline yourself and work hard, this will eventually bare you fruits.
