Music: Myse

This is my entry for the November 2005 contest over at kvraudio.com.

This month's team is "cheesy music" so I had to make up an excuse since this isn't very cheesy at all. So it's called "myse", which is the part of milk that is left over after they make white cheese. The myse is used to create a sweet tasting brown cheese (sometimes mistaken for the famous Norwegian goat cheese but it is still cow milk).

Anyway, here goes - without the player since it tends to crash firefox:

Myse - 128Kbps MP3 - 2MB

It's only two minutes long (the maximum length for the contest entries).

Enjoy! And as always I'd love your feedback.

I like the channel separation. I have it on loop play in the background; I'm kinda stirring the myse to get all the delicious flavor...er.. flava. Thanks for the interlude dude!

No, it's more like "my-say", the y is pronounced as in myst, except it is longer.

Re: Music: Myse

so what did you use?
is it all loops, no wait!!-i hear you.
ramble on.
this is rad.
it reminds me of plasma caves
i wander
no wait, i remember what this reminds me of
the mario N64 level where you are underwater, and there are weird water tension spiders, and a house?
ah well, either way, it's perfect for midnight, and sounds really good production wise
EXCEPT FOR THE END!
the drums at the end sound funky, but i only heard it once.
that final bar, hmph, maybe it was just me, i'll have to re-listen to it.
anyways, sweet

Re: Music: Myse

No loops my friend. Piano is recorded with my M-Audio Keystation Pro 88 and then I use the same track for both the FM7 and the piano. The drums are done with FXPansion GURU, so well, technically, not loops but MIDI triggered drum samples and patterns. The guitar is one shot through Native Instruments Guitar Rig. The bass is a Kontakt 2 patch. All mixed in Ableton Live. So apart from the guitar and keyboard, this is all software based stuff - and played by me.
