Question Saving Avitars

Hello Everyone,

I have checked....search....searched Faq.....nothing.

I'have been trying to create a new one, and I have the size alright, but every time I go to save it, the next page comes back invalid file format.

Is their any other format other than .Gif that works?
I have tried: bmp, jpe, jpeg, jpg

If not I will have to obtain a file converter.

Thanks

Re: Saving Avitars

if it really is too much trouble you can send it to Staff@hypography.com, we'll get around to converting it at some time or another.
edit: just make shurethat you say you want it as an avater.

Re: Saving Avitars

Im pretty sure you dont have to upload a gif... but you dont need a file converter, most imaging programs - even MS paint can save as .gif and loads more of formats.

___I use always the jpg format; the problem may lie in the size. I believe it is limited by member status (# of posts, Sponsor, etc.) first & then size. The size limit(s) are both in pixels & bytes and the interface allows which ever is the smaller I believe. Hope this helps.

Re: Saving Avitars

I'd say that most avatars aren't shopping for new spiritual teachers:

What is an avatar?
Quote:
AVATAR is a word that is commonly heard but rarely understood. In English, the word has come to mean "an embodiment, a bodily manifestation of the Divine." However, the Sanskrit word Avatara means "the descent of God" or simply "incarnation." Here is the definition based on India's ancient Vedas, the oldest and most comprehensive spiritual literature known to man:

The Avatara, or incarnation of Godhead,
descends from the kingdom of God for [creating
and maintaining the] material manifestation.
And the particular form of the Personality of
Godhead who so descends is called an
incarnation, or Avatara. Such incarnations are
situated in the spiritual world, the kingdom of
God. When They descend to the material
creation, They assume the name Avatara.
( Chaitanya-caritamrita 2.20.263 -264)

An Avatara is a personal form of the Supreme Being and innumerable such divine forms reside in an eternal spiritual realm. When a personal form of God descends from that higher dimensional realm to the material world, He (or She) is known as an incarnation, or Avatara.

Re: Saving Avatars

I hope mine does not get upset that I misspelled its name...

Then by taking that interpatation.
One should not use a gravin image, image being based on, one's religion.

Would it be safe to assume, that if a person does not have a religion, that person could use what was emotionally correct?

I was raised Roman Catholic (more about that later in another forum).
Then it would be wrong of me to use a high altitude image of the SpaceShuttle that I like? Right?

Gahd, will keep that in mind.....Turtle you may be right.
Thanks, Guys.

Thanks Clay! I've always loved spiders in all their forms..

I go out of my way Not to kill them..
If someone says "EEwwww,, Spider!! squash it!!!"
I'll gently pick it up in a napkin, and put it outside..

They are our friends! Don't be afraid..
they control noxious insects..
People don't realize that..Yet They are instinctually afraid of what they do not know/understand..???
