What's the most beautiful thing you've ever seen?

I know that, for me anyway, this changes with each passing moment, and depends on what my mood is currently, but sharing beauty is important.

The most beautiful thing I've ever seen? Wow, that's tough.

A valley around the Hudson River minutes after a fresh snow fall, looking down from a mountain peak above.
An adolescent child giving up his seat to an old woman on a crowded subway train.
The eyes of a beautiful woman staring back at me reciprocating my feelings of awe.
The first public image captured after Hubble ST was launched.
A reflection of flames from a fire dancing on a surface of water.
The stars... a smile...

Re: What's the most beautiful thing you've ever seen?

Of the most beautiful things I have seen:

1) my mothers face with joy on Christmas
2) The Amazons!
3) The beaches of Playa Del Agua, Margarita Island, Venezuela..

4) the color reflected off of my cat's eye. A color green that beyonds describe.... It's a Tiger Thing.

5) The sunset from my deck, with my Herb garden surrounding me, freshly watered, with a horizon with a beautiful blend of Pink and Yellow from the smog and atmosphere.........

Coming out of the Arctic, in the summer and again experiencing night was a melancholy visual effect, by contrast it might be that the permanent daylight was my "most beautiful thing".

Re: What's the most beautiful thing you've ever seen?

oh wait no i take that back,
last night at 10pm all the kids in my ghetto apartment complex came outside to dance with the stars and the bubble machine my neighbor turned on.
They were dancing!! everybody was, even the construction worker!!
the daughter of an ex meth user was shining a flashlight into the bubble sky space proclaiming "THE MIRACLE OF LIFE!"
i felt like such a kid,
and ate some bubbles with them.

That was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen, Last night.

Re: What's the most beautiful thing you've ever seen?

Most beautiful is hard to determine.

One experience that popped into mind right away.

One summer night I returned to my parents home to find a brother in the yard looking up. He was watching the northern lights. It was like mid-June and this is very unusual for us to see them when its sooo warm out.

Wave after wave passed overhead, like a fog but like a white cap wave.

We went across the road to our hay field on top of the hill.

To the north, the image was like you see on an seismograph recording an earthquake. Sharp beams of varied heights all along the northern sky. Some so bright they seemed as spotlights. These were the waves headed our way.

As they neared it was like a wave rolling so slowly, parts moving faster, then slowing. Pieces mixing together like a thin wispy cloud forming new waves. Looking up the waves made you dizzy as they swirled around into new patterns. This was when you could see the spaces of black star laden sky as the wave moved past. When the wave was overhead, the stars dimmed and some disapeared.

And Pink Floyd - Echos played from the boom box we had brought along. So many times the waves seemed to flow with the music.

Me and my brother watched the show for a few hours.

Re: What's the most beautiful thing you've ever seen?

most beautiful thing I'd ever seen.

Was when I hiked to the top of a HUUUUUUUUGGGGE mountain in yosemite... looking out upon the valley below me.... half dome looked so tiny and far away.

I was so far up, it was almost to the point of vertigo. -slightly.

It was just.... amazing.

Being so high up there... with nothing but nature and a couple other friendly hikers every once in a long while.

Next time I go back.... I'm getting naked.... and running around with all the bambi's and birdies.

no doubt.
