Yeah, It's kind of F*d up how our culture glamorizes killing and Desensitizes everyone to the gruesome realities of murder...

Wanna kill someone and get away with it, the best way is to somehow make contact with a stranger with the same idea. The you kill his victim, and he kills yours. Seeing as you don't have a motive for killing his victim, and he doesn't have a motive for killing yours, and you both have alibis for not being close to the spot where your victim was killed, and there's no evidence at the scene for the killing you have a motive for connecting to with it, you'll pretty much get away with it, I guess.

The hard part, of course, will be to find a perfect stranger (preferably in another town!) who wants to kill somebody bad enough to be willing to swop victims with you, a perfect stranger to him!

The story is mostly true.
The victims did not die, actually, though they wrecked their pickup in the ditch off the side of the road. And it wasn't intended to be murder, just a practical joke. And the brothers didn't actually "steal" the suitcase, they had got a phone call while in the pub saying that something of theirs was being returned in a suitcase cross the road from the bar. And the honeybees were all drones (therefore unable to sting) as it was mid Autumn, when the local hivers put drone traps on their hives to eliminate the "useless" non-working drones for the winter.

And the pickup and drive-off was witness by several of my friends who were in on the joke. They watched the two badass brothers drive off in their pickup, gathering speed down straight, level Blackjack Road. Further. Further. Further. Sudden puff of rubber smoke from tires! Truck ALL OVER the road!! Sound of screeching tires!!! Into the ditch, BOOM!!!! Doors fly open!!!!!! Two assholes running like satan was biting their britches!!!!!

We laughed about this for weeks.

As a retired Police Detective, I can tell you, There are many ways to kill a person AND get away with it. Even after admitting the killing. But I'm not telling you what these circumstances are. (Unless the price is right )

If you have a strong motive you will be a suspect.
Murders by strangers are the hardest to solve.

This kind of makes murder an impractical solution.

In the book Mind Hunter, about the FBI psychological profiler, it is said that a killer is virtually incapable of altering the aspects of the crime to hide their profile. The killer that sodomizes the victim is incapable of altering their behavior because the behavior is tied to their motivation for the crime. There have been cases where people have tried but they find the necessary alterations so repugnant that the do not do a convincing job.
