I trust in my fellow man - and happen to live in an area where most people would know that so my estimate will be a bit high. I think that 75% of people know it.

I can feel your pain InfiniteNow: 35% is not the correct answer so we now have 6 other alternatives. Just as a side thought; I wonder how many that know that the sun is a star really understand what a star is??

Actually Jay-qu, the answer is 55%. Maybe not as low as many would suspect nor as high as others would guess but never-the-less, lower than it should be...............Infy

Where does one find a number like that? Is it from some sort of census data which you are pulling this? I'd be interested to learn more about other such "what do people know on average" type trends.
