It's an article about the "upcoming forums" from 2001, asking for beta-testers

I wonder, did anybody sign up for it? Who were they? Did they stick around? Did they get a small gift, and where are their names in the special thank you section (for that matter, where is the special thank you section)?

It's amazing how fast Hypography has grown.

LOL! Good catch.

Yes, we had people sign up and eventually we were a group of about 25 or so people who kept posting now and then. It took a while for it to take off.

It *really* took off after we moved to vBulletin back in November 2004, though...we had some 8,000 posts back then.

Hypography?

Hypography [n.]: A combination of "hyperlink" and "bibliography" - ie, a list of links to electronic documents. Comparable to discography and bibliography, but not cartography.

We have been online since May 2000, and aim to be the best place to find and share science-related content of all kinds.
