Favorite Crackpot theory.

In the world of the internet, relativity deniers, victims of Sasquatch rape, and this guy run amok.

Do you subscribe to a crackpot theory? Does your penchant for rationality and being clear headed detract from you ability to uniquely understand the nature of the universe?

Or, do you simply find them amusing, and collect them, as though a sport?

I dont know about been irrational about it.. but I would like to think that we could one day devise a method of anti-gravity on a fundamental level.

Re: Favorite Crackpot theory.

There is this phenomina known as eleven eleven or 11:11 . Or crackpot theory as you may put it...

Millions of people around the world see this number in strange manners.

you may be standing somewhere, then like you heard a noise behind you, you may turn around and to instantly glance at the time 11:11 on a clock, a vcr, or what have you, and only to suddenly clue in to the fact you have just done this.

Sounds silly, it doesnt even make sense, but millions of people have it happen every single day in all kinds of ways.

One example I have is a strange one. I was on a forum, logged in, and going through, when suddenly the electricity in my house begins to surge on and off over and over. About 30 times. I made my way to my room where I thought there might a flash light. I see these huge flashes in the sky of light of multiple colors. It looked as though explosions were occuring, but what I must have saw was a power line or a transformer of some kind shorting out. Needless to say, I got logged out of the forum, and my computer somehow got shocked and all the data on my hard drive seemed to have been corrupted or erased, I couldnt start up.

Later on, I had to reinstall windows, and when I did I eventually visited the same forum, and as I did I had to manually log in. After I logged in I got this pop up on my screen.

I guess its all a coincidence, but I've been bothered by these incidents for most of what I can remember, but recently its practically gone away. Its jsut one of those things that make you scratch your head no matter your opinion towards it.

Re: Favorite Crackpot theory.

The theory I find the most amusing is that put forth by the flat earth society. The world is round with a 150 foot 'rim' of ice (north pole is the center, south pole is the outer edge).

More entertainment at http://www.flatearthsociety.org

There wasn't an option for this or 'other' in the poll so I didn't vote.

But the screenshot shows that you last visited at 10:01 pm, not 11:11pm. 11:11 was the time at which you took the screenshot. So what exactly is it that this screenshot proves? Obviously nothing happened at 11:11...

IMHO, the only theory that's crackpot is the one that refuses to consider all the others. And even when one comes across theories which have absolutely no technical value, they can be very intertaining none-the-less....................................... Infy

It does not prove anything. It just shows that when I logged in, after all that bs getting my computer back, everything was 1's and 0's, and 11:11 showed up in 3 different places.

I posted it here because I am adding it to the crackpot list, cause millions of people say they experience the same thing and get a little carried away with it. I think most of it is just the fact that 11:11 is the only time that 4 of the same numbers will pop up in 12 hour clock settings and it stands out.

I have performed experiments that have shown that even when a person is not looking, their mind is still very capable to see things in the far reaches of their parifial vision.
So as I had a clock continuously counting down, peoples brains were forcing them to look at the clock at 1:11 or 11:11 times even while in the middle of focusing on reading other things or playing a video game intently. Repeatedly it showed that the brain will see your whole world while your consciousness is closed into what you are focusing on, and the rest of your view can often become invisible to what makes your consciousness.

This is no professional experiment but the results seemed quite consistent.

Where do they say that? Should be easy to document if millions of people say so.

No, I mean where are the millions of people who have experienced this. Not the millions of search hits. Surely you can do better than that...
