Two awesome biology sites!

Learn more about microbiology from a professor at the University of Wisconsin Madison.

Textbook of Bacteriology

This one is really good. I used it in a class last year. You can learn a lot about genes, DNA etc.

I got to have my mtDNA sequenced and it is on this site. If you want to see me go to this link:

DNA Sequence Server

I am student 11. Have fun!

Ten fingers? Check.
Ten toes? Check.
Two nostrils? Check.
Two kidneys? Check.
Two eyes? Check.
Two ears? Check.

You seem very symmetric. The DNA Sequencer site is not too friendly to the end-user.

What about the textbook stood out to you? In other words, what do you remember MOST?

I found the same thing.

Vibrio, you might like this site too:
Microbiology Video Library.

Some of the videos aren't that great, but there's interesting information anyway.

I'm a little confused. What do you mean by the "end-user"?

End user = me, u, we!

I once saw on discovery...that the Wisconsin university doen not believe in evolution and stuffs. It was a documentary on Evoultion theory and its acceptance and it even went on to say tht the Wisconsin Univ once threw out a prof or someone..simply because he was speaking "things against christanity." I ve been disinteresed in th univ ever since (im writin this here..since one of the links is from tht univ)......but i wonder how much of wat i saw was true.?

Re: Two awesome biology sites!

"Universities" do not believe in anything. If there was validity in the claim, it was likely someone (or some group of someone's) in a position of authority at UofW to whom they were referring.

Re: Two awesome biology sites!

Well my brother attends that university and none of us have never heard anything of the sort. I don't know, but to me, it does not matter if there are some people are like that. I just find the website interesting. That's all. Its not like you have to agree with everything the university does to visit a website by a prof from there.

Newly added:
Also: How is the sequencer not friendly? I don't get it. I think it is a great site and interesting. I just posted them for people who may like to see them. Its for fun. You don't have to take it all seriously.

If you don't like the websites, fine. But please don't dis them. I am going to defend that univesity, of course, because I could very easily go there myself. I won't because I don't like the city. But I see nothing wrong with the univ. Just because one prof was kicked out does not give it a bad name. And how could all of them not believe in evolution, that seems so far fetched! I doubt its all true.
